Ohio License Renewal Requirements
     1.  You must complete a minimum 30 credit hours of approved Real Estate Continuing Education in order to renew your license:
9 hours in required subjects and 21 in elective subjects.

Taking ICE Courses
     1.  You will need to complete all seven available OH ICE courses to complete 30 credit hours.

     2.  When you navigate through a course, there is a timer in the upper right-hand corner that suggests how long you should spend
on that lesson. We highly recommend that you allow the timer to run down to 0:00 in order to maximize your time.
If you choose to disregard the timer and complete the lessons in less than the suggested time, when you are done with all of
the lessons, you must stay active in a Review Session of questions (maintaining a minimum of 70% correct) until you satisfy
the time requirement as approved by the Ohio Division of Real Estate and Professional Licensing. For a 3-hour course, you
must remain active for 150 minutes; for a 6-hour course, 300 minutes.

     3.  Printed course material that you can print and read off-line can be downloaded for no additional cost, but reading the printed
course material does not count for course credit. You must interact with the online course in order to receive credit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who Is ICE?
ICE is a school specializing in Continuing Education for professional license renewal. We are licensed in many states, and ICE is now approved by the Ohio Dept of Commerce for Internet delivered continuing education. ICE specializes in distance learning education using the Internet for delivery.

How long are my courses available to me?
Your course(s) are available to you for six months from the date of your order. Presuming that a specific course is unfinished, once the expiration date is reached, that course is unavailable and must be repurchased.

I can't get to the Internet. Can I use ICE's courses to renew my real estate license?
No. ICE is only approved to provide Internet based courses in Ohio.

How do ICE courses work?
Each ICE on-line course contains lessons. At the end of every lesson is a short quiz. You must answer every quiz question correctly to proceed into the next lesson. You can retake the quiz as many times as required in order to answer every question correctly. You will be informed if any question's answer is wrong.

Let the time run down to 0:00 for each lesson!

Do I have to download and print the course material?
No. You have the ability to download and print the course material at any time PRIOR to completing the course online. This material is identical to the online course lessons, although it does not contain the online quizzes and NO CREDIT IS EARNED for reading the course offline. For an additional cost, the printed material will be shipped to you from ICE.

When will my Ohio real estate license expire?
Starting in 2007, each Ohio real estate license expires once every 3 years on the licensee's birthday in the expiration year.

When I go to a class, I stay all day. Do I need to be on the Internet for 6 consecutive hours?
No. As you read through a course's lessons, your progress is automatically "bookmarked." If you read a few lessons, and you are interrupted, the ICE course will start where you previously ended when you return to that course. You can start-and-stop any course (connect to the Internet) as many times as you want.

Can I read more than 1 course simultaneously?
Yes. Each course will have its own bookmark, so you can start any course at any time without having to finish another course. Please note: ICE's learning system will not allow you to open more than once course at the same time.

Do I have to always use the same computer?
No. You can connect to the Internet using any device, log in using your ICE student number and password, and use your courses for as long as you want. Most people study at work during the day, and/or at home in the evening and on weekends.

What happens when I finish a course's on-line lessons?
After you complete the last lesson and satisfy the time requirement for each ICE course, you will immediately receive your on-line ICE Completion Certificate. YOU WILL BE FINISHED!

How do I receive my ICE Completion Certificates?
Each course's Completion Certificate is delivered to you online immediately after you complete the course's last lesson. If you are unable to print this Certificate, call ICE and we will be happy to mail it to you.

How does the State of Ohio get informed of my course completions?
It is ICE's responsibility to inform your state's regulators each time you complete a course, and it's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to send to your STATE REGULATORS the Certificates of Completion and your renewal paperwork. ONLY YOU, THE LICENSEE, CAN FULFILL THIS REQUIREMENT!!!

When you are finished with all CE requirements from every provider, you can either renew your license online (see below), or you can get your paperwork (Renewal Application with Education Compliance Form) online anytime from the Ohio website (see below) to renew your license. Do not submit the package sooner than 60 days prior to your current license expiration date.

It is very important that your license number is correct, and in the same format as in your state's computer system (14 characters beginning with BRK. or SAL.). Otherwise, your credits will be rejected.

What courses should I take?
All ICE Ohio CORE (required subjects) courses offer 3 credit hours each. If you have no CE credits, take all CORE courses to satisfy the required course obligation. This leaves 21 elective hours for completing your required CE. Select three 6 credit hour courses and one 3 credit hour course from the elective subjects to satisfy this requirement. Again, take all 3 CORE subject and 4 elective subjects if you need all 30 credit hours.

How do I order ICE courses?
You can order via the Internet at this web-site. Or you can order by fax, mail, or phone 800-621-8341 9-5 weekdays. Please call if you prefer placing your order by phone.

How do I pay for my courses?
ICE accepts most major credit cards. You can also pay by check.

If I order, what do I get?
Every course is delivered on-line via the Internet. You can also print your own course material using on-line files: Adobe Acrobat Reader®, or using your Internet browser.

If you prefer, you can also order printed course material from ICE for an additional cost. These course materials are identical to the on-line course.
