Testing Proctor Application

Someone with an Illinois real estate license probably asked you to be their testing proctor. Thank you for completing this application, and for taking the time to help this real estate agent.

Use this form to let us know that you have agreed to be an ICE testing proctor, and you have read and understood the ICE testing process described below. ICE will contact you if this application has not been approved. Please allow a minimum of 1 business day for ICE's approval of this application.

If you previously submitted this form to ICE and have already acted as a testing proctor, it is not necessary to complete this form again. Simply tell the real estate agent that you are already on file at ICE as an approved testing proctor, and they can call us to request that we send you their paper tests or Internet testing passwords.

ICE Testing Process

  1. The proctor will only administer ICE tests when it is convenient, and will not cooperate with any real estate agent who demands to take an ICE test when it is inconvenient for the proctor.
  2. The proctor may request that another ICE approved proctor substitute where a test session is not convenient.
  3. The proctor will not be compensated by ICE for administering ICE tests.
  4. The proctor is not expected to understand any questions on tests proctored for real estate agents.
  5. The proctor agrees to be visually present for the entire time that the real estate agent is taking any ICE test.
  6. The proctor is responsible for eliminating all interruptions directed to the real estate agent while taking any ICE test, and for maintaining a quiet environment.
  7. The following testing procedure is used for CLOSED BOOK manual/paper tests:
  8. mail the original test to ICE in the envelope provided immediately after the real estate agent has completed the test
  9. The following testing procedure is used for CLOSED BOOK computer-graded Internet tests:
    1. ICE will send a unique password to the testing proctor. A different password is assign to each course's test. The real estate agent should not be told or shown this password.
    2. the real estate agent is responsible for understanding how the test works and how to operate the computer used for taking the test
    3. a window will appear requesting that the proctor enter the testing password before the test starts.
    4. when the real estate agent finishes the test, the computer will request that the proctor reenter the same password used in step 3 above.
  10. The proctor agrees to not permit any ICE test to begin if, in the proctor's opinion, this Testing Process may be compromised in any way.
  11. The proctor agrees that any willingness to allow a real estate agent to cheat in any way, such as allowing anyone to talk to or assist the licensee in any way, constitutes the proctor's sharing of the guilt, for violating the state's real estate licensing law.
