The purpose of this course is to provide you with valuable information that will
enhance your knowledge of energy efficiency in the home. You will explore the
importance of energy conservation as well as the home's energy consumption.
After you have completed this course, you will have a better understanding of:
- the basic concepts of energy-efficient construction
- environmental terms and language
- major federal environmental laws
- how federal environmental laws affect real estate transactions
- methods and materials associated with making homes increasingly energy-efficient
- radon and the health risks in the home
- various elements of the home including insulation, windows, doors, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and water heaters
- the process of improving the home's performance in energy consumption
- the most effective strategies in marketing energy-efficient homes

ability to advise others regarding higher levels of homeowner comfort.
